Create a measurement sheet for rooms and dimensions
Collect measurements where they are taken. Give each room its own name, attach photos and pass the measurements on in a PDF.

Flooring installers, painters, window fitters and interior contractors can request the dimensions needed for their particular job.
What to include
- Job, address, date and person measuring
- Room or component name
- Length, width and height with units
- Measurement reference points and inaccessible areas
- Photos, special features and manually calculated areas
A practical example
A flooring installer measures three offices. Each room has a name, length, width and notes. Photos show recesses and thresholds. The installer calculates floor areas separately and enters them in number fields.
How to build it with Tabfields
Start with “Measurement sheet” under “My templates → Work & maintenance”. Add a named entry for each room or component. Record length, width and height with a shared unit, plus openings, measurement conditions and photos. Identify estimates. Calculate areas separately and enter them with units as manually determined.
Open the builder, adjust the questions and check the preview. “Share link” gives you a form link. The recipient fills it out, generates a PDF and downloads it or shares it through a supported app. No PDF is sent back automatically. Opening the builder does not load another template or replace your current draft.
The buttons open “Measurement sheet” in the template catalog. Your current draft is replaced only after you confirm loading.
Common questions
Are areas calculated automatically?
No. The form records numbers; you calculate areas yourself.
Can every room have a different name?
Yes. Each added room has its own editable heading.
How can units remain clear?
Specify one unit per field and separate distinct measurements into separate questions.
Form or finished document?
Use form mode for a fillable link and drawn signatures. If you want to write the content yourself, use document mode to create a finished PDF with text, images, details and tables.
