DOCUMENTS & USE CASES
Create a work record with hours and services
Record what was done, when and for which job. A work record PDF gives customers and office staff a clear account of an on-site visit.
Create your formWhen is this useful?
Suitable for installation, maintenance, cleaning and gardening. Identifying the customer, job and staff member helps when several visits take place.
What to include
- Job number, customer and site
- Visit date and staff members
- Start, end, breaks and manually calculated hours
- Tasks completed, materials and quantities
- Additional work, outstanding items and optional signatures
A practical example
An installation team replaces three light fittings. They enter start and end times, total hours and materials, and note a follow-up task. The customer draws a signature on the device.
How to build it with Tabfields
Add date, text and number fields for the visit. Use the Time block for start and end times, and optionally for the beginning and end of a break. Include a longer text field for the completed work. Hours must be calculated manually.
Open the builder, adjust the questions and check the preview. “Share link” gives you a form link. The recipient fills it out, generates a PDF and downloads it or shares it through a supported app. No PDF is sent back automatically. Opening the builder does not load another template or replace your current draft.
Your draft remains in this browser tab during the session.
Common questions
Does Tabfields calculate hours?
No. You enter the times and calculate the total yourself.
Is this an invoice?
No. A work record documents the visit; pricing and invoicing are separate.
Can a customer sign?
Yes, with a finger or mouse. The drawing appears in the PDF; it is not a certificate-based digital signature.
Form or finished document?
Use form mode for a fillable link and drawn signatures. If you want to write the content yourself, use document mode to create a finished PDF with text, images, details and tables.
